Small Pleasures
SMALL PLEASURES
-a small poem-
Long summer rains and you,
Lazy smiles over steaming cups
Words stumbling carelessly
between gaps in rumbles,
Thoughtless and free.
A soft caress,
A dew from your cheeks,
Your freckles like scattered stars,
Stolen from night sky.
Flashes of lightning,
Flashes of colour,
A soft blush like a rose in bloom
Lightning reflected on glossy eyes
Sparks glistening in your hazy gaze.
Long summer rains
You and me
An orchestra of rain drops
On concrete walls,
A melody running through the drains
Dripping tune by tune onto our balcony floors.
Long summer nights and us.
